A Visit to Edwina & Marvin Peytons' house

You will have to excuse me for not remembering all the member's names. I do not have a list of the members or I could cheat on this. Anyway, Edwina and her husband were very nice to invite us all over after breakfast. They live right off Galveston Bay, in San Leon, I think. Their property was all demolished by Hurricane Ike and they have now rebuilt. These folks have done a beautiful job in rebuilding and have worked so hard in getting their place to look so beautiful. They have three homes on their property and a shop/barn for their motorhome. Enjoy the pictures. We saw pictures of the before and this is the after.
Edwina takes us on a walking tour to the pier. Keep in mind that all this area was all wiped out by this horrible hurricane. The huge rocks/retaining wall were where the house used to be. They physically moved them all back to the banks.... They rebuilt the piers, too.

Don't know the correct terminology but they are growing or harvesting oysters on these shells. She explained the process but I don't want to explain it wrong.....very interesting.
The new boat docks....
All of the homes we see from the pier were wiped out an these people have all rebuilt.....

A look at their homes from their pier....
Edwina and Marvin's home....
The son's home....
The daughter's home....
We visit here.....
And they were swinging........

She said they used to have more palm trees and oaks but most are now gone.....

The barn where they used to store their motorhome and their guest home are also gone. This is the new garage/barn.

Think about it, they lost everything they had...homes, cars, clothes, etc. That is unimaginable!

What pretty women...

New pier that has been built.
